Dieter Rams inspired Battle bot
The goal of the module was getting hands on with Blender. Everything from modelling, texturing, UV mapping, rigging, animation, lighting and rendering was done over the course of three months.
The model was fully quad modelled and could be procedurally adapted with geometry nodes before applying the modifier in order to seperate and rig the necessary parts. As I was also on a tight time schedule I relied heavily on optimizing the render time. In the early phase of the project my average render time per frame was at rougly 8 seconds. For the final animation I got that down to roughly 0.7s. I achieved this number thanks to frame skipping, down sampling, exr instead of png sequence and albedo denoising.
